The 720p HD video board is located along the backstretch between turns 2 and 3, across from the start/finish line. The 332 ton structure contains 158 panels and 900 million LED lamps made by Retop. To ensure consistency of the LED lamps, Retop selected each lamp based on a surface flatness tolerance within 1mm.
This display surpasses the size of the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, and now holds the world’s record holder as the largest stadium display based on size. The Charlotte display measures 160 feet (48.76m) wide by 72 feet (21.94m) tall.
